Gold Coast Rollers 106 def Red City Roar 91
Gold Coast Rollers continued their hot streak with a 106-91 victory over Red City Roar at Carrara Stadium on Friday night.
The Rollers, who were without Round 10 hero Jason Cadee, edged ahead to take a three-point lead into the break and built on that margin with a 30-21 third quarter.
Jarryd Eustace had the hot hand with a team-high 20 points including 5 of 6 from deep and tallied a double-double with 10 rebounds.
The Rollers also had main scoring options in Callum Dalton (19 points), Preston Le Gassick (16 points), and Levi Frankland (15 points).
Red City guard Kobe McDowell-White scored a game-high 29 points and was joined by Kian Dennis (19 points) and Darryl McDowell-White (15 points) in double figures.
Mackay Meteors 79 def Ipswich Force 75
Mackay Meteors edged out Ipswich Force 79-75 in a tightly contested battle at Mackay Basketball Stadium on Friday night.
With no more than a few points in each quarter the game was in the balance (71-69) with 4.06 remaining.
Mackay’s Christopher Cedar hit a three-pointer, his fourth for the night, to spark an 8-2 run and give the home side a 79-71 lead with 1.30 remaining.
Viliami Foketi, who also nailed a three-pointer in that crucial run, joined Cedar with an equal team-high 18 points.
Emmanuel Malou (15 points) and Harrison Froling (12 points) also scored in double figures for the home side.
Force guard Isaac White led the Ipswich offence with 25 points, while Manylok Malek (15 points) and Mitchell Poulain (11 points, 10 rebounds) were also key contributors for Ipswich.
Cairns Marlins 97 def Brisbane Capitals 82
Cairns Marlins forward Majok Deng scored a league season-high 46 points in the 97-82 win over Brisbane Capitals at Early Settlers Stadium on Friday night.
Deng (pictured) tallied a double-double with 16 rebounds to go with his stellar scoring performance which featured 20 of 27 shooting from the field (74%) and 5 of 5 from the charity stripe.
The NBL Cairns Taipans star scored 12 second-quarter points to help Cairns outscore the visitors 22-10 and take a nine-point lead into the break. Alex Loughton added 16 points for the Marlins.
Brisbane’s Nicholas Stoddart (34 points) and Ben Volkman (28 points) combined for 75% of the Capitals offence. Stoddart hit 6 of 11 from deep.
Cairns (16 of 18 free throws) outscored Brisbane (7 of 14) by nine points at the line.
