Logan Thunder 79 def Ipswich Force 69

Logan Thunder improved to a 2-0 win-loss record with a 79-69 victory over Ipswich Force at Bendigo Bank Cornubia Park Sports Centre on Sunday.

The Thunder joins  Gold Coast, Southern Districts and Townsville as the only undefeated sides after round 2 of the inaugural NBL1 North season.

The Force showed they don’t know the meaning of quit as they continued to bounce back from Thunder leads in each quarter, including clawing back from an 11-point deficit (62-51) at the start of the final quarter to be within one possession with 4.22 remaining.

The Thunder finished the final period stronger, as they did in each of the first three quarters, with a 13-6 run to seal the win.

Logan guard Jeremy Kendle, who tallied 24 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists, led the Thunder offence and was backed up by centre Mitch Young (13 points, 17 rebounds) and guard Michael Cedar (10 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists).

Force forward Manylok Malek tallied a double-double with a game-high 25 points and 10 rebounds. Ipswich guard Jason Ralph tallied 15 points and 8 assists for the visitors.
