NBL1 East
Albury-Wodonga Bandits: Ashlee Hannan
In their first win of the season, the reigning NBL1 East champions showed that they are set to try to run it back with a new-look roster. The breakout star was Ashlee Hannan, with 28 points, nine rebounds and three blocks against the Canberra Nationals.
The 6’3 21-year-old could be the player to watch this season trying to fill the shoes of the GOAT Lauren Jackson.

Canberra Gunners: James Toohey
The reigning NBL1 East Defensive Player of the Year James Toohey showed he’s more than just a lockdown threat, dropping 32 points and eight triples against the Bandits on Saturday.
The Gunners are the hunted this season, trying to go back-to-back. But if Toohey maintains his shooting and conference-best defence, they should be the team to beat this season once again.
