NBL1 prospects to represent at the FIBA U19s World Cup

The NBL1 will represent Australia in the 2025 FIBA men’s U19 World Cup hosted in Switzerland later this year. 

Three currently signed players and 19 players from the 2024 season will compete in a camp to be selected for the final 12 spots from March 17-20. This will be Australia's first tournament since 2021 - where they finished 10th. 

For the upcoming season, South West Metro’s Roman Siulepa, Diamond Valley’s Jesse Mcintosh and Casey’s Ben Waller have all re-signed with their respective clubs. 

Last season Siuelpa made a major leap, averaging 18.7 points and being named the NBL1 North Youth Player of the Year. Down in the NBL1 South, Mcintosh played 14 games for the Eagles, averaging 4.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while Waller played four games while averaging 1.7 points for the Cavaliers.

They will be led by Robbie McKinlay, featuring NBL1 North championship coach Joel Khalu on his staff. 

The tournament will place from June 28th to July 6th.
