The NBL1 South MVP, Alicia Froling has re-signed with the Knox Raiders for the 2023 NBL1 season.

Froling switched her shooting hand at the start of the season due to wrist injuries. By the end of the season, she was the conference MVP averaging 21.5 points, 11.3 rebounds and one block per game -- leading the Raiders to the first round of the NBL1 South Finals.

Froling took all of her momentum and muscle memory from the Raiders into the WNBL with the Bendigo Spirit -- who sit comfortably fourth on the ladder at the end of Round 13.

Froling has started 12 of 17 games for Bendigo and is averaging 11 points, five rebounds and shooting 47.7 percent from the field in her second season shooting with her left hand.

The NBL1 South All-Star Five member told NBL1 Media that her NBL1 campaign helped her feel comfortable for the WNBL.

“Obviously, there's still a heap of stuff that I improve on. But I felt like I came to the Spirit in this WNBL season with so much momentum and so much confidence,” she said.

“I’ve kept that momentum going and then keep carrying that on to WNBL.”

With the NBL1 South season tipping off on April 1, Alicia is the second Froling to put pen to paper with Harry Froling signing with the Ipswich Force joining the Galloway brothers Kyrin and Jaylin in the NBL1 North on March 25.
