A pair of overtime games highlighted an exciting day of action in the NBL1 South Women's competition.

A pair of overtime games highlighted an exciting day of action in the NBL1 South Women's competition.

Frankston Blues 71 def by Kilsyth Cobras 76
The Frankston Blues have gone down in overtime for the second time in 24 hours, this time falling at home to a surging Kilsyth side.
The Blues looked in control early, opening up the largest lead of the game, 13 points, in the first term.
Darcee Garbin (27 points, 10 rebounds) continued her stellar season, acoring well in the first quarter helping Frankston hold onto its lead across the next two and a half periods.
It was in the final term that things fully fell apart offensively for the home side, as the Blues only managed to score a pair of baskets, both by Garbin, while the Cobras stormed back into the game.
In a hard-fought, defensive quarter, Kilsyth got the better of the exchanges, outscoring Frankston 13-4 to force the game into overtime.
Once the extra period started, the visitors scored quickly, opening up a six point lead across the first 90 seconds of action, before Briahna Whatman sealed the win with five consecutive made free-throws in the final 30 seconds.
The Cobras have now won three games in a row.

Melbourne Tigers 87 def Launceston Tornadoes 86
The Melbourne Tigers have secured an impressive win at home against the Launceston Tornadoes.
It was a back and forth contest throughout all four quarters, with the lead stretching into double-figures only once.
Perhaps the most interesting matchup came inside, as two of the league's best players, Zitina Aokuso (20 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks) and Keely Froling (32 points, 14 rebounds) battled.
It was Froling who looked to have put her side in a position to win in the fourth quarter, as the Torns opened up a seven-point lead with under three minutes to go in the contest.
Ever-resilient, the Tigers fought back, tying the game with 30 seconds left before Aokuso had her final attempt to win in regulation blocked by Kelsey Griffin (27 points, 20 rebounds).
Launceston looked on top across most of the overtime period, holding the lead for much of the five minutes, before Melbourne’s Kristy Wallace stepped up to win the game for the Tigers.
Wallace scored 21 points off the bench, including five points in 30 seconds to put the Tigers up by two points with 15 seconds remaining.
It looked as though the game could be heading to a second overtime as Keely Froling was sent to the free-throw line right after Wallace’s solo run, however the Torns’ star missed her second attempt, leaving Launceston down by one, but with the ball after it was rebounded by teammate Micah Simpson.
After the visitors moved the ball around looking for the best shot, it fell to Simpson to take the final shot, a would-be game winning three-pointer, however Isabella Brancatisano saved the day for Melbourne, blocking the final attempt to seal the win.

Knox Raiders 93 def Hobart Chargers 57
The Knox Raiders have pushed itself past Bendigo and Launceston into second place one the NBL1 South ladder after beating the floundering Hobart Chargers at home.
The Raiders dominated the game from the outset, outscoring Hobart 27 to 10 in the first quarter, only to build on its lead from that point onwards.
Leaning on its crisp ball movement (20 assists) and hot shooting from behind the arc (16-32 three-point attempts), Knox went deep into its bench before cruising to victory.
For Hobart, the returning Madeleine Garrick (24 points) struggled to keep her side in the game despite putting up some impressive numbers of her own.
The loss is the Chargers ninth in a row.
