NBL1 South is proud to announce the coaching staff who will lead the inaugural NBL1 South Select Team in the exhibition clash against the Adelaide 36ers on Thursday 11 September at the Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre in Mount Gambier.

Heading up the program will be Richard Hill (Mount Gambier Pioneers), fresh off being named 2025 NBL1 South Coach of the Year. Hill’s experience and success at the NBL1 level will provide the perfect foundation for guiding the league’s emerging and established athletes in this marquee showcase.

Joining him as First Assistant Coach is Zach Moult (Kilsyth Cobras), who in 2025 stepped into his first season as an NBL1 South head coach and quickly established himself as one of the competition’s brightest coaching prospects.

The Second Assistant Coach role will be filled by Brent Reid (Geelong United), a highly respected voice within the United program and a figure well regarded across the league for his tactical nous and player development expertise.

Rounding out the leadership group is Deb Bowman (Mount Gambier Pioneers), who will serve as Team Manager. Bowman has been Team Manager at Mount Gambier for 16 years, bringing unmatched experience and professionalism that will ensure the Select Team operates smoothly both on and off the floor.

NBL1 South League Manager Alison Cody said the coaching appointments reflect the strength and diversity of talent across the conference. “We’re thrilled to unveil a coaching group that perfectly represents the depth and quality of leadership within NBL1 South. Having Richard Hill, our 2025 Coach of the Year, at the helm alongside rising talent Zach Moult and the experienced Brent Reid brings together experience, innovation, and connection to our clubs. With Deb Bowman managing the program, this team embodies the spirit of NBL1 South and will provide our athletes with the best possible environment to showcase themselves against the Adelaide 36ers.”

With the staff now confirmed, the coaching group has begun the process of establishing the playing roster, which will feature a blend of emerging talent and proven performers from across the NBL1 South competition.
