NBL1 Star Thompson Signs In WNBL

Hobart Chargers NBL1 South superstar Sharna Thompson has signed with the Townsville Fire for the 2020/21 WNBL season.

Thompson is one of Tasmanian and Australian basketball’s rising youngsters, having averaged 15.5 points for Hobart in NBL1 last season and currently averaging 37.3 points in the SBL league.   

The 20-year-old joins the Fire as a development player.

“I have been following Sharna for a couple of seasons in the SEABL and NBL1 competitions,” Townsville coach Shannon Seebohm said.

“She has a great feel for the game as a scorer and is someone who has the ability to become a full time roster player in the future. I’m excited to have her join us for the upcoming season.”
