The Ballarat Miners have secured a quintet of coups for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 South season.
Nic Pozoglou will cross over to NBL1 South for the upcoming season after a stellar year in NBL1 West where he was named the NBL1 West Most Valuable Player, NBL1 West Defensive Player of the Year and a member of the NBL1 West All First Team.
He joins fellow former Cockburn star and Molly Mathews at the club in 2022.
Mathews is a Ballarat local having played her junior basketball with Celtic Tigers and progressing through the Ballarat pathway.
Pozoglou also played with the Miners in 2018 where the team finished fourth.
Joining Pozoglou on the Miners' men's roster is import David Crisp.
Crisp is a point guard who played with the Washington Huskies in College alongside Australian Matisse Thybulle before being second in Round 2 of the 2019 G-League draft to the Stockton Kings.
Crisp spent his 2020/21 season playing in Denmark with Randers Cimbria alongside fellow Ballarat Miners recruit Preston Bungei where Crisp averaged 11.5 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.6 rebounds a game.
Bungei is a Naturalised Australian who plays for the Kenyan National Team and comes to the Miners having played at Sandringham in the 2021 NBL1 season where he averaged 19.66 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.33 assists per game.
The signings are rounded out by lethal three-point shooter Isabella Brancatisano.
Brancatisano joins the Miners after two interrupted seasons at Melbourne Tigers and prior to that five years with the Geelong Supercats.
Brancatisano averaged 14.64 points, 3.35 assists, and 5.35 rebounds a game and has previously had stints in the WNBL with the West Coast Waves and the South East Queensland Stars.
