NBL1 West superstar Jeremy Combs has signed with the Joondalup Wolves for the 2024 NBL1 season.
Coming in as a replacement for Greg Hire, Combs immediately filled the power forward slot and added athleticism and scoring to Rockingham’s line-up.
“Joining the Joondalup Wolves isn't just stepping onto the court; it's embracing a family of passionate fans and strong club. Having played in the League last year, the Wolves stood out as a powerhouse team. As a player, fans can expect to see me giving 110% each game," Combs said.
"Our goal is not just the championship, but also team growth and unity. I'm thrilled to be a part of the team and I look forward to the journey ahead with the NBL1 Joondalup Wolves."
For the season, he averaged 17.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and four assists shooting a ridiculous 71 percent from the field.
He helped lead the Flames to the Preliminary Finals, where Rockingham lost to Joondalup in a heartbreaking overtime loss to make the Grand Final.
In the National Finals, Combs was outstanding. Averaging 24.3 points and 9.6 rebounds across three games – being named to the All-Star Five for the tournament alongside then teammate Marshall Nelson.
Wolves' head coach David Morrell was thrilled to welcome Combs as their second import of 2024.
"When Jeremy became an option, we felt like he was the perfect fit for us, and we are thrilled to now be able to get him on board. His versatility is elite - he was a DPOY candidate last year in the league and can effectively guard all 5 positions," Morrell said.
"He gives us size, he gives us power, and he makes us more skilled. On top of that, he’s a true professional that goes about his business the right way, everywhere he goes.
