Goldfields started their road trip well in Rockingham on Saturday night, but already without Amanda Wayment, they lost Olivia Berry and her 19.3 points a game to injury against the Flames.
With the added blow of Rachel Kehoe fouling out and that game got away from them, and then without Berry or Wayment on Sunday, it was a tall order against the undefeated and on-fire Wolfpack.
That's exactly how it panned out with Joondalup putting up 30 points to 12 in the first quarter. The lead blew out to 33 in the second with the Wolves going into half-time on top 53-22.
Things got decidedly uglier in the third quarter with the Giants managing just two points. Joondalup piled on another 28 to lead by as much as 57, and then by the final buzzer the margin had ballooned out to 68.
It's a seventh straight win to start the season for the Wolfpack at an average of 33 points while the Giants slip to 1-6 with five consecutive defeats.
Robbi Ryan continued her standout form for the Wolves with the Perth Lynx WNBL guard producing 25 points, six assists and three rebounds on 11/15 shooting from the floor and 3/6 from beyond the arc.
Nes'eya Parker-Williams added 18 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals, Teige Morrell 14 points and nine boards, and Emma Klasztorny 13 points and five boards up against the team she spent last season with.
Former captain and 257-game veteran Shani Amos added 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals for the Wolfpack.
Ash Sidebottom made the most of her increased role and minutes for Goldfields to produce 14 points in the 151st game of her career that has included stints with the Mandurah Magic and Rockingham Flames.
Kiriana Hawaikirangi also had seven points, six rebounds and two assists for the Giants, and Rachel Kehoe six points and seven boards.

Wolfpack keep Giants winless on the road in 2023
The Goldfields Giants took the challenge right up to the Joondalup Wolves but the home team took charge in the second half for the 90-82 victory on Sunday afternoon.
The Giants were playing their second game of the weekend on the road and were looking to bounce back from copping the brunt of the rampant Flames in Rockingham on Saturday where they lost by 30 points.

Heading from well south of the metro area to way north meant the Giants had racked up the kilometres on the weekend, but that didn’t stop them starting well against a Wolves team who escaped with an overtime win to the East Perth Eagles on Friday.
Goldfields put together an impressive opening to the contest at HBF Arena Joondalup with 27 points to 18 in the first half. The Giants kept the momentum going and were on top 49-35 going into the half-time break as well.
The challenge was ahead of the Wolfpack to avoid a second home loss already this season and their answer couldn’t have been more emphatic at both ends of the floor.
Joondalup held Goldfields to just seven points the entire third quarter while piling on 30 themselves to turn that 14-point deficit at the half into a nine-point lead by three quarter-time.
The Giants just didn’t have the petrol tickets left for a fightback and the Wolves went on to score the eight-point win to make it three straight and improve to a 5-3 record. The Giants are 2-4 having lost all four matches away from home to date.
First-year Wolfpack import Quintin Dove proved the hero in the overtime win on Friday and was tremendous again against the Giants with 23 points and 12 rebounds.
Mathiang Muo added 20 points, six rebounds and four assists against one of his former clubs with Bryan Michaels contributing 14 points, six assists, two steals and two blocks with his father, and Perth Wildcats championship winner, Dewey on hand to watch visiting from Montana.
Joondalup captain Jordan Wellsteed put up 12 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and two steals as well with CJ Turnage contributing 12 points, five assists and three rebounds.
Lafonzo Smith top-scored again for Goldfields with 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals on 9/13 shooting including some spectacular flushes at the rim.
Damon Ballantyne also had 15 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals, Mayo Malek 13 points, 10 boards, three assists and two blocks, Michael Dupree 14 points and five assists, and Kon Anguik seven points, four assists and three rebounds.
