The Perry Lakes Hawks ended up beating the Mandurah Magic 80-52 in a result that could go a long way to determining who ends up taking part in the playoff action and who doesn’t.

The Perry Lakes Hawks delivered a standout performance on Tuesday night against what had been an in-form Mandurah Magic team to show what they could be capable of if they reach the NBL1 West Women's Division playoffs.
Round 17 in the NBL1 West Women's Division got underway with the make up game on Tuesday night at Bendat Basketball Centre, and the result in terms of who won might not have been a huge shock, but the winning margin certainly was.
The Perry Lakes Hawks ended up beating the Mandurah Magic 80-52 in a result that could go a long way to determining who ends up taking part in the playoff action and who doesn’t.
There are two more matches to take place on Thursday night in the NBL1 West this week too with the East Perth Eagles hosting the Warwick Senators at Herb Graham Recreation Centre, and the Joondalup Wolves taking on the Cockburn Cougars at HBF Arena.
Then on Friday night, it's a huge night with the Perth Redbacks at home to the Mandurah Magic, the Perry Lakes Hawks facing the Kalamunda Eastern Suns and the Willetton Tigers playing the South West Slammers.
The Mandurah Magic are then at home to the Rockingham Flames on Saturday evening with the South West Slammers hosting the Joondalup Wolves and the Warwick Senators playing off against the Warwick Senators.

PERRY LAKES HAWKS 80 defeated MANDURAH MAGIC 52
Mandurah actually came into Tuesday night's game on fire but the Perry Lakes Hawks quickly doused them and ran away with what could end up being a pivotal 28-point victory.
The Hawks and Magic arrived at Bendat Basketball Centre on Tuesday night to open Round 17 in the NBL1 West Women's Division with precious little separating them with Perry Lakes at 6-9 and Mandurah 6-8.
However, the recent form of the Magic has been outstanding winning four of their past five matches to put themselves right in the playoff hunt after a tough start under new coach Vlad Alava having lost two of their opening nine games.
It has been a rollercoaster ride all season for Perry Lakes but they were fresh off a big win against East Perth and they continued on that momentum on their home floor on Tuesday night.
Fresh off ending East Perth's impressive winning run, Perry Lakes held Mandurah to just the 10 points in the opening quarter while putting up 15 themselves.
The Hawks then outscored the Magic 22 points to 18 in the second quarter to head into half-time with a handy 37-28 advantage.
Mandurah stayed just in touch by three quarter-time to be down 10, but Perry Lakes put the result well beyond doubt with a dominant and impressive fourth quarter made up of 24 points to just six.
The 80-52 victory improves Perry Lakes to a 7-9 record on the season while Mandurah now slips to 6-9 as a result of the loss.
The pressure applied by Perry Lakes forced Mandurah into 33 turnovers for the game even though the Hawks also had 24 of them too. But the Hawks shot 48 per cent from the field opposed to 35 while also attempting 26 free-throws to just 11 from the Magic.
Millie McCarthy produced a stunning performance for Perry Lakes to finish the evening with 29 points and five assists including hitting 4/6 from three-point territory.
Megan McKay was a dominant presence down low too finishing with 20 points, 14 rebounds and three steals while Maddie Dennis contributed 13 points, and Mia Satie eight points, four boards and four assists.
Mandurah wasn’t able to maintain its impressive recent form but Carly Boag did what she could up against the imposing Perry Lakes front court with 18 points and 16 rebounds on 8/12 shooting.
Rachel Halleen added seven points for the Magic, Casey Mihovilovich six points, eight assists and seven steals, Emma Klasztorny six points and six rebounds, and Serika Shillingsworth six points and two steals.
