NBL1 x NBL: Round 5 recap

Although only two games took place in Round 5 of the NBL, it gave some NBL1 players the opportunity to shine. 

Cairns Marlins star Majok Deng recorded a career-best 27 points in the Taipans' six-point loss against Perth. also adding seven rebounds and four steals. 

He was complemented by Knox's Bul Kuol, who continued his fine debut season with 13 points, five boards and four assists. 

In the other game, it was Melbourne who prevailed over Tasmania by four points. 

North Adelaide championship player Jack McVeigh led the way in the NBL1 contigent with eight points and five boards. 

Sandringham's Sam McDaniel also contributed seven points and four rebounds. 

Geelong's Shea Ili added five points, four boards and three asssists for United.
