Another massive round of WNBL action featured some killer performances from our NBL1 stars!

Check out how some of them went below:

Sara Blicavs drops a 40-piece

The Geelong Supercats superstar had a historic WNBL performance, scoring 41 points and shooting 88 percent from the field. The Southside Flyers won both games in Round 9, with a margin of 64 points against the Boomers and Spirit.

Sitting second on the ladder, the Flyers are well and truly in the hunt for the championship and the team has plenty of experience with Lauren Jackson, adding the inaugural NBL1 East championship to her resume in 2022.

Flyers duo preparing for 2023 NBL1

The Southside Flyers are filled with 2023 NBL1 signings already, Lana Hollingsworth signed with the NBL1 South Keilor Thunder last week, Maddy Rocci is headed to the NBL1 North South West Metro Pirates and Bec Cole re-signed with the NBL1 South Waverley Falcons.

Against Bendigo Rocci and Cole were outstanding, Cole had 11 points, seven assists and four rebounds while hitting mid-ranger after mid-ranger against the Spirit. While Rocci added 21 points and five of the Flyers’ 20 triples for the game.

Cole has re-signed with her Waverley Falcons while Rocci is moving from USC Rip City headed to the South West Metro Pirates to join NBL1 Coles Express National Finals All-Star Five member Leah Scott.

Townsville continues to be fiery

The NBL1 North Finals MVP and NBL1 East Defensive Player of the Year agave joined forces to reign terror upon the WNBL this season.

While Townsville sits fourth on the ladder, the Fire remains one of the scariest team’s in the competition with their NBL1 duo on the floor. Over Round 9 Reid averaged 15 points, 5.5 assists and two steals while Nicholson averaged 18 points and two assists.

Both stars have re-signed, with Reid running it back with the NBL1 North Champions the Townsville Flames and Lauren Nicholson suiting up for the NBL1 East runners up the Sutherland Sharks.
