Pioneers Basketball Club is excited to announce that NBL pre-season basketball will return to Mount Gambier in the lead-up to the NBL24/25 season.
After a hugely successful game last year, the Adelaide 36ers will be back on court at Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre on Wednesday, September 4, when the club will play Brisbane Bullets.
Club Platinum Partner ASW Lawyers have headlined as the major partner and assisted greatly in the return of the NBL pre-season game to Wulanda in 2024.
Pioneers Basketball Club President Tom Kosch said that given the community response from last year’s NBL pre season game in Mount Gambier, it was a priority to bring it back for a second consecutive year.
“Last year’s match was extremely well received; all general admission seating sold out within 24 hours of tickets going on sale,” President Tom Kosch said.
“Without the support of our club sponsor ASW Lawyers, bringing national level basketball between the Adelaide 36ers and Brisbane Bullets would not be possible.”
‘’As a club, we strive to bring national basketball to our region. To bring NBL pre season to Mount Gambier for the second consecutive year is a testament to the community support of the wider community.”
Adelaide 36ers and Brisbane Bullets teams will be active within the community, with promotional visits and clinics in schools over the two days the clubs are in the region.
Our existing partners will have first access to their courtside seating and boxes. For business or sports fans looking to elevate their experience, new and exciting corporate hospitality options will also be available.
“Our club is always looking for ways to enhance the game night experience for all that attend game nights at Wulanda.”
“Opportunities exist for businesses to partner with our club and make the most of the corporate hospitality opportunities that run alongside the event, along with the club's annual President’s Lunch on the day of the game.”
The 2024 Most Valuable Player and fan favourite, Nick Marshall will again be the headline act after spearheading the Pioneers in the NBL1 South for the past four seasons.
Adelaide 36ers head coach Scott Ninnis said it’s important for the club to support the regional areas of South Australia, who are massive basketball fans.
“We saw last year the game was huge, it was sell out and we have a great connection with the basketball community in Mount Gambier,” Ninnis said.
“It’s also great for our guys to get away as a team and get on the road, even though it’s a home game for us.”
“Nick is a crowd favourite here in Mount Gambier, so I’m sure he will get plenty of support,” Kosch said.
“We are super excited to bring high-level basketball to Wulunda again and we can’t wait for September 4.”
Tickets for the pre-season match will be on sale to the public at 6pm on Sunday, August 11, 2024. Tickets are available HERE.
