Newman and Thomas re-sign with Hawks

The Perry Lakes Hawks have re-signed Ellie Newman and Lewis Thomas for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 West season. 

Newman averaged 3.3 points and 2.4 rebounds per game in 2021. 

She featured in 11 games and averaged 8.6 minutes in each appearance. 

Prior to this, she played eight games for the Hawks in the 2020 West Coast Classic. 

In that tournament, she averaged 1.1 points from 4.9 minutes. 

She joins Mia Satie, Emma Clarke , Annika Renkema, Millie McCarthy and Morgan Ballantyne on the Hawks' women's roster so far.

Thomas averaged 12.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists in the 2021 season. 

He will be looking to join Adam Thoseby, Ben Purser and Rob Cassir in going back-to-back for the Hawks.
