The Logan Thunder have announced the return of Chevannah Paalvast for the 2021 NBL1 North Season.
Paalvast returns for her second straight season with the Thunder after playing a significant role for Logan’s women’s 2020 Queensland State League Championship.
Originally from New Zealand, Paalvast spent the 2020 WNBL season with the Bendigo Spirit and has previously played for the Canberra Capitals, Townsville Fire and New Zealand Tall Ferns.
“It’s great to be back. I really enjoyed playing at Logan last year with a great bunch of talented girls. I’m excited for an opportunity to win a NBL1 championship with Logan,” Paalvast said.
“Even though we had an amazing season there is always room to improve. I think for us it will be improving our consistency on defense and refining or execution on offence.
“It really does feel like a family. Everyone is extremely supportive and welcoming. I think the best thing is the fact that people at Logan will go out of their way to help each other out.
“I think for our team I will bring a defensive presence, as well as some experience. Our team is very talented, so I think for me it’s just about doing the little things, like setting screens, to get teammates open.”
