After a fantastic season with the Ballarat Miners, Zitana Aokuso is headed to Mount Gambier for the 2023 NBL1 South season.
The WNBL champion and former Sixth Women of the Year is currently rehabbing a broken foot with the Townsville Fire and is aiming for her return in Round 9.
With Ballarat, Aokuso averaged 17 points and nine rebounds as the Miners just missed the South finals by a game last season.

Head Coach Matt Sutton said he was excited to add Aokuso to his roster for the 2023 season.
“Zitina gives our group a strong interior presence on both ends; she has a lot of high-level experience and will have a lot to offer our program and community,” Sutton said.
We are really happy to have Zitina join our program and can’t wait to get to work with her once her WNBL commitments are done.”
The bronze medallist at the FIBA Asia Cup now joins Haliegh Reinoehl, Cassandra Brown, Sherrie Calleia, Isabella Brancatisano and Miela Goodchild with the Pioneers for 2023.
