NBL1 East superstar Vanessa Panousis will return to the Sutherland Sharks for the 2024 season.
Panousis was a key piece to the Sharks' Grand Final appearance in 2022, eventually losing to Lauren Jackson’s Albury-Wodonga Bandits -- named to the All-Star Five in the process.
She then signed with her junior club, the Sydney Comets, during their inaugural season in 2023 – where she averaged 22.3 points, 5.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds for the Finals team.
Panosuis now returns to the Sharks after a successful season with the Sydney Flames, playing in 20 games for the 11-10 team.
Sharks General Manager Adrian Dark said he’s excited to bring Panpousis back to the club.
“It’s great to have Vanessa back at our club. She is familiar with our team and players, having been with us before,” he said.
“She is an elite guard that is going to be able to help us not only win games of basketball but mentor and grow our young players coming through. It’s an exciting time for our women’s program.”
Sutherland starts their season against the Penrith Panthers on Saturday, April 6 streaming live and free via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App
