Panthers sign NZ star in NBL1 Central

The South Adelaide Panthers have signed New Zealand star Jordan Hunter to their women’s team for the upcoming 2021 NBL1 Central season.

The South Adelaide Panthers have signed New Zealand star Jordan Hunter to their women’s team for the upcoming 2021 NBL1 Central season.

Hunter has previously represented New Zealand with the Tall Ferns, had a stint in the WNBL with the Adelaide Lightning and played last season with West Adelaide.

She will add leadership and control on court to South Adelaide’s team and will coach the U16 2 Girls team.

“Firstly, I’m excited for a proper season for all of us - it’ll be good to fill the stadiums again,” Hunter said.

“Coming to a new club, I think every player is nervous at first, but South had welcomed me in with open arms and faced me with some new challenges this season.

“The South girls are definitely a fun group who compete, which is great for us ‘old bodies’ because it keeps us on our toes. Looking forward to playing under Rich and the coaching staff here at South and of course, becoming part of the South Adelaide family.”

Hunter joins Ashleigh Spencer, Olivia Thompson and Teresa McGreehan on the Panthers’ 2021 roster.
