The Perth Redbacks have announced the re-signing of 2021 Men's NBL1 MVP Louis Timms for the 2022 NBL1 season.

Timms averaged 22.6 points and 8.4 rebounds a game in 2022 while shooting an impressive 51.2 percent from the field, 74.3 percent from the foul line and 33.8 percent from downtown.

He then went up another gear in the finals, delivering 32 and 36 points in wins over the Warwick Senators and Willetton Tigers to help get the Redbacks all the way to a Preliminary Final.

He also shared the Most Consistent Player award with captain Joel Wagner this season.

Speaking about Timm's re-signing, Redbacks NBL1 Director Nathan Barns said: "Louis was certainly a priority re-signing for us for 2022.

"He's had a significant impact at Redbacks in such a short amount of time.

"He is such a professional in the way he prepares and brings a lot to the Redbacks both on and off the court.

"After an injury-marred 2020, Louis getting through the full 2021 season is a credit to his dedication and the results showed for themselves.

"We cannot wait to see him back in action in 2022."

Redbacks NBL1 coach CJ Jackson is equally excited about Timms' return.

"After a breakout year with our club, we are excited to have Louis return for his second season," Jackson said.

"He was instrumental in guiding us to a final four finish in 2021 and we are delighted to have him back to help us go a few steps further in 2022."
