The Perth Redbacks are proud to announce the club has raised over $4,000 dollars in the NBL1 West’s Pink Round to support our partner of choice Breast Cancer Care WA.

In a double-header against the Cockburn Cougars, both clubs stood united to support women suffering from breast cancer.

Chief Executive Officer Ryan Lenegan said that this partnership is extremely important to the charity's success, and is proud the club has made an impact.

“Breast Cancer Care WA relies completely on community donations; their team provides integral information and support for patients and their families, from diagnosis through to remission,” he said.

“Our fundraising has been driven via a combination of direct donations, a Pink Round raffle and the auctioning of our unique Perth Redbacks Pink Round singlets.”

The special edition jerseys were designed by Perth basketball fanatic Nick Tan, whose wife Peta, is a breast cancer warrior.

Lenegan explained that this initiative embodies what the Redbacks strive to be as a club.

“Two of the values for the Perth Redbacks are family and community,” he said.

“With one in seven Western Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer before their 85th birthday, and many our our Redbacks families continuing to face a breast cancer battle, we are proud to support such a worthy cause.”
