The Mount Gambier Pioneers have received a tremendous boost with current captain Jasmin Howe re-signing for the 2022 NBL1 South Season.
After two seasons impacted by COVID-19, the Pioneers are excited about what Howe can achieve in the 2022 season.
Howe is a former Millicent Magic Junior who grew up watching the Pioneers Men's Team, which motivated her to return to the Limestone Coast and sign with the Pioneers in 2020.
Howe was impressive during the COVID-19 shortened NBL1 South 2021 season, averaging 41.5 percent from the field and a very credible 17.69 points per game with 5.38 rebounds.
Head Coach Matt Sutton said it was fantastic that Howe has recommitted to the Pioneers.
"Having an experienced player from the South-East lead the group demonstrating to the young hoopsters in our community that there is a local pathway to elite basketball is crucial for us," he said.
"Jazz was our top scorer in 2021 and is an elite shooter with a natural ability to stretch the floor, which is vital in today's game.
"I look forward to getting to work with Jazz in preparation for our 2022 campaign."
The Mount Gambier Pioneers will commence their 2022 NBL1 South campaigns in April, 2022.
