NBL1 West First Team member Quintin Dove is ready to take his Joondalup Wolves to the National Finals next weekend.
Escaping with an improbable win against the reigning champions the Rockingham Flames on Saturday night, the Wolves now prepare for the Grand Final against the Geraldton Buccaneers.
“I’m looking for a dog fight, I’ve got my dogs with me and we are looking to brawl,” he told NBL Media.
“It’s gonna be a very good game, very physical game, they’ve got some good players and their fans are amazing.”
Not only is a championship on the line, but so is a spot in the Coles Express NBL1 National Finals, set to take place at Joondalup.
Dove says the team knows what’s at stake and is excited to get back in front of their home fans next weekend.
“Absolutely, that’s one of the chips on our shoulders,” he said.
“We have to make it back to HBF (Arena), we just come in and take it one game at a time. You got to be a dog, to be in the dog pound so it’s gonna be a good weekend.”
After playing overseas in Europe and South America, Dove said that the Australian lifestyle has been a luxury.
With the beach down the road and the Western Australian sun, Joondalup has been Dove’s home and he’s become a cult hero with his flashy plays.

But above all, the “Wolfpack” has made his stay in Australia enjoyable and successful.
“We have the best organisation, the best fans, the best atmosphere, everything,” he said.
“I’ve just got a winning mindset, coming in I had something to prove, I’ve got a chip on my shoulder, I wanna win a championship.
“We've got a really good group of guys and that takes you a long way. I think we have the best team too, so I’m ready for this Grand Final.
“We are coming to fight man, we got a winning spirit, our fans are gonna come out and it’s going to be packed. It’s going to be a big weekend.”
Dove has been one of the best players in the entire NBL1 competition, averaging a conference-high 28.3 points per game and helping lead his Wolves, after slipping to the seventh seed, into the Grand Final.
