West Adelaide Bearcats (66) defeated by South Adelaide Panthers (66)

In the close finish, the South Adelaide Panthers closed out the win by six points against the West Adelaide Bearcats to even their record after Round 2.

Samathna Defranceso was the Panthers' x-factor, scoring a game-high 24 points and catching fire early in the game to give South Adelaide some breathing room.

Their other stand-out was import Brittany Hodges, putting up an aggressive 19 points and 12 rebounds as her size was too much for the Bearcats.

It was another impressive game for Candian Daneesha Provo, the Bearcats recruit currently leads the conference in three-point makes after another hot shooting performance tonight with four triples.

The Bearcats were the better team for multiple stages of the game, leaving the loss even more painful for the retooled squad.

The Panthers will host the North Adelaide Rockets on Saturday, April 6 streaming live via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.

SOUTH ADELAIDE PANTHERS 66 (Defrancesco 24, Hodges 19, Ashleigh Spencer 7)

WEST ADELAIDE BEARCATS 60 (Provo 14, Molly Coleman 13, Sienna Greieger 9)

West Adelaide Bearcats (92) defeated by South Adelaide Panthers (98)

The West Adelaide Bearcats just finished short of the South Adelaide Panthers thanks to a heroic performance from Jordan Heading.

The Adelaide-born guard is playing his first season in Australia after multiple seasons in college and in Asia. He scored a career-high 45 points, scoring 17 points alone in the fourth quarter.

Unfortunately, West Adelaide could not claim the win while unveiling their championship banner at home. South Adelaide outrebounded the Bearcats 44-35, led by Adelaide 36er Alex Starling who finished the game with 35 points and 12 rebounds – dominating on both ends as any Central fan would expect.

It was also a strong showing for Tom Kubank, in his second game for the club he scored 18 points and has shown that the transition from NBL1 South to NBL1 Central has not bothered his game.

The Panthers will host the North Adelaide Rockets on Saturday, April 6 streaming live via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.

SOUTH ADELAIDE PANTHERS 98 (Starling 35, Kubank 18, Samuel Johns 13)

WEST ADELAIDE BEARCATS 92 (Heading 45, Mirko Djeric 15, Jordan West 11)
