Annika Renkema will be back in blue for 2022 after re-signing with the Perry Lakes Hawks.
Renkema averaged 3.76 points and 2.15 rebounds in the 2021 NBL1 West season.
She said she was excited to continue to improve next year.
"I can’t wait to be back on the court wearing the blue and white uniform in the 2022 NBL1 West season and representing Perry Lakes Hawks," Renkema said.
"This season will be exciting for the girls, as there has been a few changes within the women’s team and a fresh start but the way we have responded and stayed resilient during this really shows the unity and the amount of love and friendship we have for each other on and off the court.
"Coming off of a strong end of last season, the girls and myself are motivated and driven to continue in that pathway and be strong contenders for the championship!
"With the group we have and the style of basketball we are running this season, it’s going to be exciting and entertaining for our supporters to watch and for the hawks juniors to inspire to."
New Hawks coach Craig Mansfield was thrilled to welcome Renkema back for another NBL1 West campaign.
"I am so happy to have Annika signed and returning for 2022, she has been a leader of the Hawk’s NBL1 women’s team for many years and is committed to our club," Mansfield said.
"She is an elite athlete that can significantly influence a game on the defensive end of the court and will suit the high tempo style that we aspire to play.
"In the small amount of work we have done so far her work ethic and intensity has been clearly demonstrated and I’m very excited for what she brings to the team dynamic as we grow our program for sustained success."
