The 2023 Coles Express NBL1 National Finals has its first head-to-head match-up locked in with the defending champions the Rockingham Flames taking on the NBL1 North champions the Ipswich Force. 

The 2023 Coles Express NBL1 National Finals has its first head-to-head match-up locked in with the defending champions, the Rockingham Flames, taking on the NBL1 North champions the Ipswich Force. 

The Ipswich Force closed out a three-game series this weekend, defeating the 2022 NBL1 North champions the Gold Coast Rollers. Olympian Nathan Sobey took home the Finals MVP with a series average of 27.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and three assists.

NBL free agent Deng Deng dropped 41 points in the final game while the Galloway brothers contributed heavily throughout the series. 


They'll take on the 2023 NBL1 West regular season MVP Devondrick Walker. Alongside the core of last season's National Champions, including former Cairns Taipan Marshall Nelson. 

The Flames replaced Greg Hire with import Jeremy Combs, who was a nominee for the NBL1 West First Team. For the season he's averaged 17.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists for the first on the ladder Flames.
