The Gold Coast Rollers on a mission to win it all in the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 North season, securing the signatures of NBL stars Jason Cadee and Will Magnay.
Cadee has signed on for his second season in Rollers colours after being named in the NBL1 North All Star Five last year.
The Brisbane Bullets captain averaged 23.14 points, 10.42 assists and 4.85 rebounds on 44.72 percent shooting from the field.
Speaking about his re-signing, Cadee said: "I'm really excited to be returning to the Coast for another NBL1 season.
"Obviously, last year was very disrupted due to a number of reasons so I’m looking forward to hopefully a smoother year with 'Peach' (Anthony Petrie) as the new head coach in what will be an exciting team"
Magnay comes in for his first season of NBL1 after stints with Brisbane, Perth and now Tasmania in the NBL.
The Jackjumpers big man also spent time in the NBA with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Although it may be his first season in NBL1 North, Magnay has had some experience with opposition teams, featuring with the Brisbane Capitals and Southern Districts in the Queensland Basketball League (QBL).
Newly appointed Gold Coast Men's Head Coach Anthony Petrie said he was delighted to have Magnay on-board on 2022.
"It’s extremely pleasing to secure the signature of Will," Petrie said.
"We have had a lot of good discussions about his basketball and developing certain facets of his game that will only strengthen who he is as a player.
"I had the pleasure of working with Will when we were both at the Bullets and he is a great young man who was always willing to listen and wanted to get better every day.
"We've seen when he had a heathy run what he is capable of when he found his way to the NBA.
"To think he is still only 23 is very exciting from his standpoint of how much growth he still has left in his game.
"We can’t wait to get him up here on the coast but most importantly, the association is adding another great person to our ranks."
Petrie was equally excited to see Cadee sign on for the upcoming season.
"I am really excited to have 'Jase' back involved for his second season with the Rollers," Petrie said.
"It’s not often you get the opportunity to work with and coach a player of his calibre.
"He is the pinnacle of Australian points guards in terms of what he offers especially in regards to his IQ and ability to make the game extremely easy and simple for those around him.
"I’ve seen 'Jase' grow into a fantastic leader and more importantly, we want great people involved with our club and he is exactly that.
"He has done work behind the scenes with some of our junior teams and players when he’s had the opportunity and is always giving of his time and experience to help grow the juniors we have at our club.
"He has already become more than just a player to have come and play at our association.
"We are extremely excited to have him join us once he finishes his NBL commitments."
