Ruby Porter and Jordyn Freer sign with Adelaide Lightning as Development Players

The Adelaide Lightning have announced the signing of Ruby Porter (Cockburn Cougars) and Jordyn Freer (North Adelaide Rockets) as Development Players.

The Adelaide Lightning have announced the signing of Ruby Porter (Cockburn Cougars) and Jordyn Freer (North Adelaide Rockets) as Development Players for the WNBL 2025-26 season.
The signing of Porter comes off the back of what was a fantastic year for the Cockburn Cougars. Capping off an undefeated NBL1 West season, the 23-year-old took home the Grand Final MVP award in their victory over the Warwick Senators, and helped guide her side to the Championship Game at the Mitsubishi Motors NBL1 National Finals, although they would fall short to the Knox Raiders.

The Lightning have also landed a strong prospect in Freer, who has had an excellent season for the North Adelaide Rockets. She averaged 17 points and 6.3 rebounds, with the highlight of her season coming in Round 7 against the Eastern Mavericks, where she finished with 31 points and 8 rebounds.
