Sabres begin building NBL1 Central men’s roster

The Sturt Sabres have announced their first signings for their 2021 NBL1 Central men’s roster with Sam Daly and Joel Spear committing to the club.

Daly returns to Sturt after stints with the Sydney Kings and Mount Gambier Pioneers.  

"We are really happy to have Sam back playing for his home club, we look forward to having Sam’s experience, athleticism and his ability to impact the game at both ends of the floor," coach Paul Rigoni said.

Spear was the Sabres’ MVP in the Adelaide Basketball Challenge last year and is set to bring that production over to NBL1.

“It’s great to have Joel back playing with us for another season. He always looks forward to the game day challenge and is equally effective whether he is playing with or without the ball. His read of the game allows him to know when to step up or involve his teammates,” Rigoni said.
