Sami Whitcomb signs with Willetton

Australian basketball star Sami Whitcomb has signed a short-term deal with the Willetton Tigers for the 2023 NBL1 season.

The Opal will play for the NBL1 West Tigers on a two-game contract starting Thursday night, as she prepares for WNBA season with the Seattle Storm alongside NBL1 South Youth Player of the Year Jade Melbourne. 

The two-time WNBA championship winner, FIBA Women’s World Cup Bronze medallist and four-time WNBL First Team member will join NBL1 West superstar Alex Sharp across Rounds 2 and 3. 

Starting on Thursday night, Whitcomb and the Tigers will face the Lakeside Lightning, streaming live from 6:30 pm AWST via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App here.
