The Perry Lakes Hawks have announced the re-signing of Mia Satie and the acquisition of Emma Clarke for the 2022 NBL1 West season.

After averaging 10.64 points, 3.29 assists and 4.88 rebounds, Satie earned a Development Player contract with the Perth Lynx.

She said she was looking forward to continuing her development in the WNBL off-season as a Hawk.

"I’m really excited to be back in the blue and white this coming NBL1 West season," Satie said.

"A lot of things have changed in the past few months but some things that have remained constant are the love, support and friendship within this special group of girls.

"I am looking forward to building on the season that we had last year and I am more motivated than ever to unite this team and win the championship.

"The style we are going to play next season is going to be exciting and I hope we can make the Hawks supporters proud and continue to inspire the younger generations."

New Hawks Women's coach Craig Mansfield added: "I am very excited to have Mia returning for our 2022 season, I know everyone at Hawks loves having her as part of the club.

"Her ability to pressure the rim with and without the ball is a unique ability and a skill that is so important for a successful basketball team.

"She finished last season strongly over the final six weeks and I am excited to see her continue this form and for Hawks to help provide her opportunities to continue to grow into a WNBL player who has a valuable role for the Lynx.

"Providing a pathway for the development and growth of Mia and all the players in the squad on and off the court is very important to our program."

Clarke returns to the Perry Lakes Hawks after a season with Lakeside in NBL1 West this year.

The Perth Lynx star said she was looking forward to new beginnings in 2022.

"I’m excited to be back at the Hawks for NBL1 2022, playing with some familiar faces and under coach Craig (Mansfield," she said.

"I am looking forward to playing my role and contributing to club success both on and off the court. Go Hawks!"

Hawks coach Mansfield said he was delighted to welcome Clarke back to her junior club.

"It is fantastic that Emma is returning to her home club where she played her WABL basketball," he said.

"Emma is genuinely one of the most athletic and gifted scorers in NBL1 and I know has been continuing to put in the work as part of the Lynx program.

"I’m excited to see her play over this coming WNBL season and even more excited to have her back and part of our program next season.

"Emma is a serious basketball player who is capable of a long career, we will be striving at Hawks to provide an environment for her and all players like her to achieve their goals."
