Sharks secure All-Star centre

Following on from the announcement of Opals squad member, Lauren Nicholson, the Sutherland Sharks Coles Express NBL1 East Women’s team is proud to announce that 2021 Waratah1 All-Star Centre, Courtney West will be returning to the Shire in 2022.

Averaging a double-double of 20 points (at 69 percent from the field) and 13 rebounds a game in 2021, West provides a powerful punch in the paint at both ends of the court.

Women's head coach Shelley Bates was thrilled to have West in a Sharks singlet in 2022.

"As a mobile big with great shooting touch, Courtney will be a key team member for us in 2022," Bates said.

"More importantly, she is a strong defensive presence in the key with her shot-blocking ability and her tenacity on the boards."
