Sharp unleashes in UC Capitals debut

The reigning NBL1 West MVP Alex Sharp roared into the 23/24 WNBL season with a dominant performance against the Adelaide Lightning.

The reigning NBL1 West MVP Alex Sharp has roared into the 23/24 WNBL season with a dominant performance against the Adelaide Lightning. 

Sharp scored 21 points and pulled down 19 rebounds at home in her debut for the UC Capitals. 

NBL1 East First-Team member Isabelle Bourne also had a fantastic game, with 20 points in her WNBL debut for the Lightning. 

Sharp spent the past four years in Western Australia, playing for the WNBL's Perth Lynx and the Willetton Tigers. In her tenure with the Tigers, she won the 2021 and 2023 MVP, 2021 Championship and Finals MVP – while being the runners-up in the 2022 and 2023 Grand Finals. 

Next season Sharp will play for the Rockingham Flames, alongside Opal Mader, Emily Stevens, Imogen Soulos, Tiana Wilson-Palmer and Sophie Doran.
