Sheppard joins Bearcats for 2022 season

The West Adelaide Bearcats have signed Nate Sheppard for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 Central season.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, Sheppard spent his college years at Malone, playing 117 games. 

He averaged 14.68 points and 4.36 rebounds during his tenure.

Sheppard was supposed to join the Bearcats in 2020 but was unable to suit up due to COVID-19 forcing the season's cancellation

Speaking about Sheppard's signing, Men's Head coach Corey MacLean said: "We are really excited to have Nate back with us for season 2022.

"We’ve stayed connected since 2020 and getting him back was a no brainer for us.

"He can score the ball from all levels, he has an unbelievable passion for not only the game of basketball but for life in general which will be great for our group.

"We can’t wait for him to get down here and get to work.

"We expect massive things from Nate this upcoming season."

The Bearcats have also unveiled their 2022 leadership group, naming Anthony Spadavecchia as captain, with Luke Cadzow and Patrick Ciggas to serve as his deputies.
