Smith switches from Mandurah to Perth for 2022 season

The Perth Redbacks have announced the signing of Ben Smith for the 2022 NBL1 West season.

Smith played for the Mandurah Magic in 2021, averaging 14 points and sox rebounds a game.

He will add valuable frontcourt depth to Perth's men's NBL1 team.

Speaking about Smith's signing, Redbacks NBL1 Director Nathan Barns said:? "We are thrilled to have Ben on board for 2022.

"His position in the 4-5 spot has been an area that we were looking to have more strength and depth in and we're so glad to have Ben in red for 2022.

"He is not only a great player but a great person who will add to our team both on and off the court."

Perth NBL1 men's head coach CJ Jacksons said:? "Smitty is a big signing for us.

"He is an experienced, mobile 4-5 big man who will create huge opportunities for our existing roster.

"He will add value and depth to our front line and is a great person that we're excited to have at our club."
