South Adelaide bolsters rosters with 36ers' Hulland

The South Adelaide Basketball Club has announced the signing of Owen Hulland for the 2021 NBL1 Central season.

The South Adelaide Basketball Club has announced the signing of Owen Hulland for the 2021 NBL1 Central season.

Hulland is a 7’0 Centre currently playing with the Adelaide 36ers, who will bring a much-needed inside presence to the Panthers.

Hulland left Adelaide in 2016 to take up a scholarship at the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence based at the AIS, where he averaged 12 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in the SEABL (now NBL1 South) as a 17-year-old.

From there, Hulland committed to Division 1 US College University of Hawaii, where he played two seasons before returning to Adelaide to join the 36ers.

Hulland wasted no time showing he is a very capable player at the NBL level, recording 15 points and three rebounds in 21 minutes in a pre-season game against the Brisbane Bullets.

Hulland is excited about joining South Adelaide and the potential of the roster so far.

"I'm excited to get started and play with this talented group," he said.

"I think with the players we have, we will be able to complete anywhere in Australia.

"I'm really excited to get on the court down there and play with the boys!"

Head Coach Jamie Petty is looking forward to seeing what Hulland can bring to the team this upcoming season.

"Owen is a fantastic addition to our team," he said.

"He's a very skilled player both inside and on the perimeter, and he has the physical capabilities to be a dominant player in our league."

Hulland will join South Adelaide for the 2021 season at the conclusion of the NBL season.
