The South Adelaide Basketball Club has announced the signing of Alex Mudronja for the 2021 NBL1 season.
Mudronja is a 6'5 point guard currently playing with the Adelaide 36ers who brings length, experience and creative playmaking to the team.
In 2016, Mudronja left Adelaide to accept a scholarship to the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence based at the AIS.
From there, he would go on to play for Australia in the Under 17 World Cup and win a bronze medal with the Emerging Boomers at the World University Games, before heading to the USA to play in the college system for St Mary's.
Mudronja recently returned to Adelaide to join the 36ers and is now in his second season with the team.
He received his first career start in March against the Perth Wildcats.
Mudronja said he is looking forward to the season ahead with South Adelaide.
"I'm very excited to join a club with such a good culture and atmosphere at games," he said.
"It means a lot for me to play alongside my longtime friends Owen (Hulland) and (Jarryd) Hoppo, as well as the other major talent South Adelaide has this year.
"I can't wait to get out there."
Panthers men's coach Jamie Petty believes Mudronja will add great value to the 2021 roster.
"Alex is great addition to our team," he said.
"He is one of the best pick and roll players in the country, and has a basketball IQ well beyond his years."
Mudronja will join the team for the 2021 season at the conclusion of the NBL season.
The Panthers open their season on April 10 at the Shed against North Adelaide.
