Nunawading Spectres edged out the Kilsyth Cobras 70-68 on Sunday at Kilsyth Sports Centre in a tense contest that featured 20 lead changes.
The Spectres were led by Isabel Feller's 17 points, including two triples, with 5-of-8 shooting from the charity stripe. Laina Snyder dominated the boards with an incredible 25 rebounds (23 defensive) to complete a double-double alongside her 13 points. Nunawading capitalized at the foul line, connecting on 21-of-29 free throws compared to Kilsyth's 6-of-10, providing the difference in a close game.
For the Cobras, Nikita Young led all scorers with 23 points, shooting 40 percent from outside with four triples. Abby O'Connor added 15 points while Georgia Dale provided strong support with seven rebounds and three steals. Despite hitting 10 triples to Nunawading's five, Kilsyth couldn't overcome the free throw disparity and Snyder's monster night on the glass.
