The Eastern Suns have appointed Ben Ettridge as their NBL1 Men's coach for the 2022 season.
As a player, Ettridge spent time with the Cockburn Cougars, Willetton Tigers, Mandurah Magic and Perth Redbacks from 1993 to 2004.
As a coach, he is renowned for his work with the national wheelchair basketball teams.
He served as the head coach of the Perth Wheelcats, Australian men's Under 23 team, an assistant with the women's national senior team and as head coach of the men's senior team.
During his time as men's coach, Ettridge led the team to Gold and Silver Medals at the 2008 and 2012 Paralympics.
He also won three NWBL Coach of the Year awards and five Wheelchair Sports WA Coach of the Year Awards.
In 2011, Ettridge was appointed coach of the Wanneroo Wolves (now Joondalup) in the SBL and guided them to their first championship since 1993 before returning to the club in 2015.
In 2019, he joined East Perth before arriving at the Eastern Suns in September, 2021 as an assistant coach.
Now after two seasons as an assistant, Ettridge will make the step up to the head coach role in 2022.
