The Southern Districts Spartans have announced the re-signing of both Tamuri Wigness and Jess McDowell-White to their Men's and Women's sides for the 2026 NBL1 North season.

With both sides competing in the NBL1 North Grand Final Series' last season, the returns of these two stars were crucial heading into next season.

Averaging 26 points, 6.6 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 steals throughout the season, Wigness earned a place in the NBL1 North Men's All-Star First Team, and led the Spartans men's side to victory in the NBL1 North Grand Final Series.

With the win booking the team a place at the 2025 NBL1 National Finals in Canberra, Wigness went on to average 33.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game over that weekend, and claimed a place in the National Finals All-Star Five.

McDowell-White was also very influential for the women's side, averaging 16.5 points, 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 steals for the 2025 season, as she claimed a place in the NBL1 North All-Star First Team as well as the Club MVP award.

While her side wasn't able to come out on top in the Grand Final Series against the Logan Thunder, McDowell-White was excellent over the three games, averaging 17.6 points, 5.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game.

After what was an incredible season for the NBL1 North Association of the Year winners, they will certainly be eager to back up their winning ways.
