NBL1 West superstar Robbi Ryan has signed with the Rockingham Flames for the 2024 season.
Joining the 9-0 Flames, she reunites with former Joondalup Wolves head coach Marcus Young and teammate Nes’aya Parker-Williams in Rockingham.
"We are thrilled to welcome Robbi Ryan to the Rockingham Flames," said Wong.
"Her familiarity with our league, combined with her proven talent and competitiveness, make her an invaluable addition to our team as we continue to pursue success on the court."
Most recently playing in Sweden, Ryan returns to Western Australia where she played two seasons with the Wolves and one season with the WNBL's Perth Lynx.
She was named to the All-Star Five in 2022 and was even better in 2023, averaging 20.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game for the Finals team.
She’ll fill the role of Sami Whitcomb, who helped kickstart the Flames hot start to the season before returning to the WNBA with the Seattle Storm.
Ryan said she cannot wait to reunite with Wong and embraces the challenge of playing for a new team.
"It's an honour to join Marcus at the Rockingham Flames and represent the local community," she said.
"I'm excited to embrace the challenge and help the team build momentum as we move through the remainder of the NBL1 ’24 season."
The Flames will host the Eastern Suns tonight, streaming live from 6:30pm AWST live via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.
