Sykes back for Year 5!

The Eltham Wildcats are excited to announce the return of high flyer Josh Sykes for the 2024 NBL1 South Season.

Josh first played for Eltham in 2018 as a 21-year-old fresh out of college and he made a statement early in his career filling the highlight reel week after week. Now, 6 years later Josh returns for his 5th season at the Wildcats.

Josh had the following to say about his return: “Thank you Eltham Wildcats for bringing back to my 2nd home. No pun intended Second home (Local Cafe). Means a lot coming back to a club that treats me like family. The group of guys I play with always keep in contact, the conversations that I have with the coach staff, and the energy of being around the club you just can’t say no to this wonderful experience. So thank you Eltham for always being great to me."

After their tough finals loss last season Josh and the team have some unfinished business: "The bar last year was set for us, we lost to Knox to go for the championship game so we expect nothing lower than what we did last year. We have a job to finish and if you’re in our path expect a fight to the finish”.

Josh and our Eltham Wildcats NBL1 teams kick off their season on April 6th against the Diamond Valley Eagles at Montmorency Secondary Stadium. Keep an eye out for more announcements to come.
