Tamboran Darwin SALTIES sign US star and launch new Season Tickets

In exciting news for the Tamboran Darwin SALTIES, American star Ashley Arlen has signed with the NBL1 women’s team for 2024.

Arlen will be a key player for the Top End side, having competed right across the globe in countries including the United States, Germany, Romania and Spain. She is celebrated as a league and finals MVP, and has been named in the Women’s British Basketball League, Team of the Year, just last season.

The Iowa-born forward said she was “beyond thrilled” for the opportunity to be back in Australia and playing for the SALTIES.

“I can’t wait to touchdown in Darwin and get rolling with the team – it’s going to be an exciting season,” she said.

Ashley said the amazing community support was a key contributor for her deciding to join the Darwin SALTIES.

“The community involvement and family feel around the SALTIES is so important and something I really value, especially having a daughter who travels around the world with me,” she said.

“I can’t wait to get to work with the team and hope that my experience and love for the game can help us achieve big things this season.”

Tamboran Darwin SALTIES Women’s Coach Rod Tremlett said he was excited to have Ashley join the team this coming season.

“Ashley is a seasoned pro and will bring great leadership and experience to the group,” he said.

“After being a dominant force in the NBL1 North previously, we can’t wait to see her in the SALTIES uniform providing us with a significant interior presence in 2024.”

Ashley’s signing comes as the highly anticipated 2024 Tamboran Darwin SALTIES season ticket launches.

SALTIES fans can now secure their preferred grandstand seat at all nine home games at Ventia Darwin Basketball Stadium in 2024 for just $240.

Kids season tickets are also available to purchase for $120 for children aged 15 years and younger.

Season tickets are available for a limited time only and give fans a significant discount plus the chance to get first access to finals games.

Tamboran Darwin SALTIES General Manager Matt Nason said now’s the perfect time for basketball fans to buy a season ticket for a discounted price.

“Excitement is definitely building for the 2024 season, so I would encourage fans to purchase a season ticket as soon as possible to avoid missing out,” he said.

“The upcoming season is shaping up to be one of the best, and we can’t wait to welcome locals and visitors alike to the Croc Pot to see top quality basketball right here in Darwin.”

Courtside, corporate hospitality and sponsorship packages are also available this season.

The SALTIES start the 2024 season at home at Ventia Darwin Basketball Stadium against the Cairns Dolphins and Marlins on Saturday, 13 April 2024 from 6pm ACST.
