TARIQ MUTURI IS BACK WITH THE PACK!

The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the signing of Wolves junior Tariq Muturi for the 2024 NBL1 West season!

Tariq is a dedicated and hard-working young athlete who gives the extra effort on both ends of the floor to drive team success. In the 2024 season for the Wolves Championship men, Tariq has excelled as a scorer and facilitator, with multiple 20 plus point performances.

For the Pack, Tariq looks to continue in his development and provide a spark and energy to the squad, which Wolves fans can look forward to seeing throughout the season!

Men’s Head coach David Morrell had this to say about signing Tariq:

“We are pleased to announce the return of Tariq Muturi into the NBL1 squad for 2024. Tariq has shown great dedication and improvement throughout the off season, and it’s shown great results to start the D-League season as he’s shooting the ball at a very high level, better than he ever has.

He’s very skilled as a guard and can navigate screens or get by defenders and into the paint. He’s also continuing to get better as a point guard in reading the game and making the right read or pass, as well as defensively by pressuring the ball. This growth is exciting, and he has the type of character that we want in our program. We are very happy to have him in our squad for 2024.”

When Tariq was asked what he’s most looking forward to this season, he said:

“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to re-sign with the Wolfpack. I’m excited to gain more experience and continue my development under coach David and our extended coaching staff. I hope to bring a constant energy, competitiveness and contribute wherever I can in our push to another championship run. It’s an honour to be back in green and I can’t wait for the chance to play in front of the best fans and atmosphere in the league!”

Tariq Muturi joins teammates Zion Warioba, Jack Kingswood, Beau Gardiner, Jeremy Combs, Gabe Chadinha, Jonathan Wade, Ethan Elliott, Ben Geel, Christian Jurlina, Caleb Davis, Luca O’Brien, CJ Turnage and Jordan Wellsteed for the Joondalup Wolves in the upcoming 2024 NBL1 West season!
