Tayah Burrows Returns to the OneFortyOne Pioneers for the 2026 NBL1 South Season

The Mount Gambier Pioneers are thrilled to welcome Tayah Burrows to the OneFortyOne Pioneers for season 2026.

Tayah will add versatility, experience, and toughness to the club’s backcourt. Burrows previously signed with the Pioneers ahead of 2024, but an ankle injury sustained while playing in Sweden prevented her debut for the Pioneers.

Burrows returned to Australia and joined the Southside Flyers for the 2024/25 WNBL season, where she contributed valuable depth to a strong WNBL roster.

Following the WNBL season, Tayah committed to the Keilor Thunder in the 2025 NBL1 South season, before injury limited her court time to four games. Now nearing full recovery, Burrows is expected to enter the 2026 season healthy, prepared, and ready to make an immediate impact.

At 24 years of age, Tayah adds both national and international experience to the Pioneers women's roster. Hailing from Western Australia, Burrows also proved her talents within the NBL1 West competition with the Rockingham Flames from 2019 - 2023. In her final season, Burrows averaged 16.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 5 assists per game.

Following this Tayah tested her talents internationally in Sweden with the KFUM Ostersund and Lulea.

Burrows knows the NBL1 South landscape well and is eager to make her long-awaited debut in Mount Gambier colours.

Head Coach Matt Sutton spoke about what Tayah brings to the group:

“Tayah is an extremely resilient athlete, that we look forward to having here.”

“She plays with a physicality and joy for basketball that I think will make her an instant fan favourite.“
he added.

Tayah shared her excitement about joining the OneFortyOne Pioneers:

“I’m super keen to join the group for this upcoming season. I am very motivated and excited to return to play post injury and can’t wait to meet all my teammates and the Mount gambier community!”

The OneFortyOne Pioneers will begin preparations for the 2026 NBL1 South season soon, with few players announcements, expect more to go and some pre-season details will be annnounced soon.
