The Canberra Gunners roster is a fully local squad, they all grew up together and brought a championship to Canberra in the inaugural NBL1 East season. They were led by Glenn Morison, the Finals MVP who averaged 18 points, 10.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.

The Gunners are stacked with talent, as William Mayfield, Defensive Player of the Year James Toohey, Akech Allir and Shaun Mills were arguably the best starting group in the entire conference, and it showed.

Due to having the first seed the Bandits automatically advanced to the Semi-Finals, where they beat the NBL1 East MVP Kiwi Gardner and his Illawarra Hawks by 31 points. 34 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists from Mayfield got it done as they advanced to the Grand Final.

The Gunners escaped with a three-point win with against the Maitland Mustangs as Morison had 28 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks to win the title and take home Finals MVP.

The Gunners will play the NBL1 Wildcard men’s Frankston Blues on Friday.
