The Eltham Wildcats are thrilled to announce the re-signing of two-time NBL Champion Angus Glover for the 2024 NBL1 South Season.
In 2023, Glover was a key contributor for the Eltham Wildcats who made their first ever finals appearance in NBL1. Angus averaged 18.70ppg & 6.74rpg on 47% FG shooting to help the Wildcats advance to the Semi Finals.
The 25-year-old athletic guard has played 6 seasons in the NBL for the Illawarra Hawks and Sydney Kings. Eltham Wildcats Head Coach Craig Stratford is excited to have Glover back to help lead the group in 2024.
“He [Glover] is that special player who can impact the game at both ends of the floor, after an excellent season with us in 2023 he was always a priority signing for us.
“Angus has a great connection with our basketball community, playing with a contagious passion for the game and also makes the time to share his knowledge and experiences with our younger athletes. It's great to have him with us again in 2024.”
After a successful first year with the Wildcats in 2023, Glover is ready to help take the team to another level.
“It means a lot to represent such a prestigious club like Eltham. Even more so being here last year and having the opportunity to build on what we did. I wanted to return because we have unfinished business as a team. We were right there last year so we want to go further,” expressed Glover.
Being a Wildcat extends further than just on the court according to Glover.
“Another big reason for returning is how tight this club is from seniors all the way down to juniors. It’s a family club and can’t wait to see it grow again in 2024.”
You can see Angus and the Eltham Wildcats in action when the season tips off on April 6th at Montmorency Secondary College against local rivals the Diamond Valley Eagles.
