The Southern District Spartans are the Wildcard Series women’s winners and had an outstanding season from start to finish.
They finished second on the NBL1 North ladder, only two losses behind the undefeated Logan Thunder and looked like the second-best team in the conference for the majority of the season. That was off the back of their deep roster featuring Tall Fern Kalani Purcell, WNBL veteran Nadeen Payne and NBL1 stars like Leah Scott, Madelyn Allen and Lil Dart. It is a testament to their overall team success that none of their stars made the NBL1 North All-Star 5 but was clearly one of the most talented rosters in the conference.
The Spartans want revenge ?
After losing to the @Nbl1North Champions the Townsville Flames in the Semi-Finals, they will have their re-match in the @coles Express NBL1 National Final next Friday as the Wildcard seed ? ?

In the NBL1 North Quarter Finals, they beat USC Rip City 34 points, off the back of 35 points from Leah Scott. The Spartans then ran into the Townsville Flames at full force, suffering a 108-81 defeat in the Semi-Finals.
This women’s Wildcard and NBL1 North women’s championship match-up will be a re-match of the Semi-Finals, and the Spartans will be hungry for revenge on Friday.
