The Wolves keep rolling with a pair of wins on Van Kailis Court!

The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves maintain their unbeaten start to the season, improving to 4-0 in an 85-69 home victory against the Mandurah Magic.

The Wolves wasted no time in getting the score rolling, opening with a 3 made by Darien Huff who was also impactful defensively, getting steals and collecting valuable rebounds. Scoring from Jorjah Smith, Ella Thornton Elliott and Julia Chandler helped to extend the lead in the second quarter, contributing 23 points between them in that time frame.

The Wolves opened the second half with a strong 22-point. Sarah Toeaina was a consistent defensive force during the game, pushing the pace and setting up teammates for inside baskets. Julia Chandler delivered her third double-double of the season with 28 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Darien Huff contributed 18 points, five boards and Jorjah Smith 14 points and six assists.

Peanut Tuitele tallied 8 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in the game and Ella Thornton-Elliott – 6 points, 4 assists and 4 steals in the game.

The Wolves shoot the lights out in a strong team performance.

Wolfpack fans were energetic as the Wolves looked to extend their early win streak to 4 for the season and welcome back Wolves legend Jonathan Wade to the court. The Mandurah Magic were coming off a win against the Cockburn Cougars in Mandurah, however, were missing key players Joel Murray and Julian Pesava in their second game of a double-header.  

After an almost 2-minute scoring hiatus to start the game, Caleb Davis opened the tally with his first of 5 threes made for the game from the inbound pass by Ethan Elliott. From there, scoring came in bunches for the Wolves with buckets from captain Jordan Wellsteed and CJ Turnage. The Wolves had a 4-point lead when Jonathan Wade made his debut at the 5-minute mark, which was extended to 14 points just 2 minutes later after 4 consecutive threes made by Wade himself.

CJ Turnage was again dominant, filling the stat sheet with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals in the game. Jordan Wellsteed was perfect from the field, delivering 11 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. CJ Turnage tallied 22 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. The Flash Brothers were unstoppable on the fast break, with Ethan Elliott tallying 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Jonathan Wade, 22 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists on 4/5 perimeter shooting.
